Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin said the fiscal year 2020 budget signed by Gov. Phil Murphy over the weekend is "fiscally responsible and sustainable."
"I am proud of the budget the Democratic Legislature delivered to the Governor and I am very pleased that he recognizes that the spending plan is fiscally responsible and sustainable," said Pintor Marin, who chairs the Assembly Budget Committee.
Murphy signed the $38.7 billion spending plan on Sunday, avoiding a government shutdown.
"This budget provides much-needed additional funding for NJ Transit, property tax relief, seniors, veterans and more while retaining a $1.1 billion surplus," said Pintor Marin, who represents Belleville and parts of Newark.
"I thank my colleagues on the Assembly Budget Committee for their tireless efforts over the past several months as we worked to produce a spending plan that funds our shared priorities," Pintor Marin said.
