TRENTON, NJ - Following testimony from the non-partisan Office of Legislative Services and the State Treasurer, Assembly Budget Committee chair, Eliana Pintor Marin (D-Essex) issued the following statement today:
"Today’s testimony from State Treasurer Elizabeth Muoio and the Office of Legislative Services makes it abundantly clear that we all have our work cut out for us as we look to manage the current fiscal crisis.
State Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin, the chair of the Assembly Budget Committee, said the 2019-20 fiscal year budget approved by the state Assembly "sets New Jersey on the right path for the next fiscal year."
The 38.7 billion budget was passed in the Assembly by a vote of 53-24. It also passed the state Senate 31-6 and heads to the governor's desk.
